Hello guys, how are you? Today we speak about THE SETTING!
As you know, Must Be a Dragon corebook includes a section about the setting, a 1800s Europe where dragons exist and hide themselves in the most disparate places. This section, made up of letters, newspaper articles and journal pages contains the story of some explorers (such as Irene) and their families or of the political and historical events, first of all NapoleonBonaparte, who knew about their existence and wanted to find them.
The rules section is divided into Scenes, and each has five questions to answer. The opening scene concerns the creation of the explorer, and the following ones, their adventure in search of the dragon. Although there are examples and suggestions to better set the adventure in this specific century, you are not obliged to set your game in Napoleonic Europe.
Let's see some alternative ideas:
A high fantasy setting in which dragons play an important role (Like Dragon Age, Skyrim ...)
An apocalyptic setting where dragons came from other planets or are mysterious entities.
A futuristic setting where technology is the basis of everything and could be dragons digital representations of the power or secrets of humanity
A horror setting where dragons are dark and cruel, for a reason unknown to all.
And many more...
The author of Must Be a Dragon, Andrea Carbone, has a lot of ideas for alternative settings that will be shared with you and that we can play together on our Discord Server when the project is funded.

When the Moon Hangs Low is a gothic action roleplaying game in which the players take on the mantle of hunters: people who have had a brief, traumatic encounter with the forces of darkness that has cursed them with an inescapable doom but also with strange, inhuman powers. Drawn to Harrowmire, a decaying city teetering on the edge of chaos, hunters are often all that stands between the citizens of the cursed city and the monsters that now haunt its streets.
Already a best-selling PDF, this Kickstarter aims to fund a printed edition filled with bespoke artwork by talented creators. Also included in the basic goal is an atmospheric soundtrack to accompany your expeditions into Harrowmire. There are a range of backer tiers, and a number of exciting stretch goals to add even more content to the book.
